II National Fashion Law Congress
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Center for European Studies and the Center for American Studies invite you to participate in the 2nd National Congress of Fashion Law - a unique event constituting a place for the exchange of knowledge and discussions between fashion law enthusiasts and representatives of the fashion industry!
WHEN?
The congress will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The length of the Congress depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the conference to Sunday, September 15, 2024.
WHAT IS THE CONFERENCE ABOUT?
The main assumption of the Fashion Law Congress is a discussion on the issues of fashion law in the perspective of generally applicable national (Polish) law, foreign legal orders, international regulations and practical aspects of running a business in the fashion industry (from marketing, through specific employment methods, to protection policies). environments that limit the activities of fashion companies).
The organizers of the Fashion Law Congress would like to discuss a multitude of pressing issues related to law in the fashion industry, such as licensing agreements, copyrights, trademark protection and legal aspects related to the production and distribution of fashion products (clothing and accessories).
Proposed (example) thematic areas:
✓ Intellectual property law (in particular copyright and trademark law) in the fashion industry
✓ Agreements and commercial transactions related to the fashion industry (domestic and international)
✓ Labor law and forms of employment in the fashion industry
✓ Customs duties and taxes on business entities selling clothing and accessories
✓ Trade dress – case studies
✓ New challenges for the fashion industry (including artificial intelligence, digitalization and virtual reality)
✓ The most interesting rulings regarding "fashion matters" and their consequences
✓ Ethical issues of clothing production (modern slave labor, child labor, environmental degradation, etc.)
✓ Issues related to international supply chains
✓ Legal aspects of modeling
✓ The fashion industry and startups and e-commerce
The thematic areas indicated above are examples only - we strongly encourage you to go beyond their framework. Moreover, the presentations may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science.
We believe in freedom of academic discussion and do not censor speeches for ideological or political reasons. Original and unique speeches will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.

• We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, representatives of the fashion industry, as well as all other people interested in the conference topics to actively participate in the conference.
• Passive participation does not require any scientific qualifications.
